Exquisite old handmade wood box. Made with cherry wood.
Corners have nice joinery, but are 'dry fit' and not glued or nailed. Very tight joints, but not perfect.
The sliding top lid has a carved spot for sliding the top with your finger.
When I found this it was in an old building full of old car parts. It was covered in dirt.
Amazingly, the dirt came off pretty easy. The interior was immaculate...clean...remarkably !!
I sanded all surfaces of the exterior, and used a paste wax to bring out the beauty of the wood. Hand applied and buffed.
I also added the vintage label holder to the front of the box.
