Ok...so here's the deal. I wasn't quite sure how to properly 'classify' or 'categorize' this piece.
Yes, the metal cabinet IS a vintage file sorter cabinet. I removed the 'flat' horizontal dividers.
The cabinet was originally painted a sort of 'fleshy pink'. YUK !! It has been stripped, sanded and waxed with carnuba automotive wax to prevent rusting. The back side of the cabinet is one sheet of metal. It is finished the same. I can provide photos of the back.
I re-imagined the purpose of the cabinet from it's original intended use. I decided to build and fit 20 drawers into the cabinet shell for increased functionality...and a kick ass look !! The hardware on the drawer fronts are clamps used to hold pipes. They are zinc finished.
I also added the cast metal casters for flexibilty and maneuvering.
The drawer fronts are pine and have been stained and waxed. They 'glow' with a beautiful red orange color in the sun/light. The interiors of the drawers have no finish and are raw wood. They will age and turn color over time to a beautiful color. Each drawer was hand made by me. There are no 'stops' on the drawers, and they will pull all the way out.
This cabinet is not that large.
Dimensions __ 38 3/4" high ( with casters ) x 20 1/2" wide x 12" deep
Each drawer is approx __ 3" high x 9" wide
NOTE * __ I am not a full fledged cabinet maker. There may be some flaws here and there.
This item is best suited for PICK UP...however, I can provide estimates for shipping. Please convo me your interest in having it shipped, and I'll provide an estimate. Packaging materials will need to be included in the shipping cost. It will not be inexpensive. I have been very creative with shipping solutions, so don't rule shipping out if you really like this cabinet.
