This old wood pond boat came my way in pieces.
It was extremely dirty.
I have cleaned, reassembled and added a few details. No small feat.
In it's current state it is not 'correct' as many parts and pieces were missing.
Hopefully it still retains its soul. I can only imagine how wonderful this was when new. As it is, it is still very interesting to look at.
The brass rails have a beautiful green patina. The rusty propeller and cage are stunning in their decay. I added the rail around the bow, and the little metal flag.
The original dark varnish was cleaned with a beeswax wood conditioner to bring back the color. The finish shows marks, wear, and distressing.
For display and appreciation only. This cannot be used in water. It may float, but that's besides the point.
There is no stand to hold the boat in position. You would have to acquire or make something.
