Very awesome field carrying case.
Made of heavy saddle leather. Plenty of evidence of use. Please see photos.
The color of the leather is actually somewhat duller than the photos depict. Sunshine is funny that way.
I believe this was a military case of some sort. Honestly have no idea of its original use, but was with a 'lot' of other military items...duffles, back packs, etc.
Metal button closure is wonderful.

I believe WWII vintage, but may be earlier.
A bit dusty on the inside bottom, and a slight 'old odor'. Not mildew, but could use a freshening, or leather cleaning.
Nice long strap and top handle for carrying. Strap is a generous 57" in length.
Very sturdy little case. Rigid, so it's not collapsible.
Love its square little profile.
