Very Old set of Britain's Hollow Cast Lead Toy Soldiers.
These date between 1930 & 1940 or so.
I believe it is set # 1267, but am not certain.
Made in England. These are all painted by hand !!
This is the US Military Marching Band in Khaki with Peaked Caps.
The arms of the figures are all 'hinged' so they move, and can be positioned as desired.
There are 21 total pieces in the set.
They are as follows.
1 Drum Major
4 Small Horns or Trumpets Players
3 Clarinet Players
1 Fife Player
1 Oboe Player
3 Trombone Players
3 Small French Horn Players
2 Large French Horn Players
1 Cymbal Player
1 Base Drum Player
1 snare Drum Player
Paint is in Very Good to Excellent condition. The base drum does have a spot of wear on it where there is paint loss.
There are condition issues with the set. They are as follows.
1 Small French Horn is missing the bell of the horn.
The arms of one Large French Horn Player are loose, but not broken.
Otherwise the set is in remarkable condition. These are minor repairs that can be made by a knowledgeable restorer.
A handmade box was made for this set by the original owners.
Hand sewn cotton bags were also made by the original owners mother. Thus the remarkable paint condition on the set.
Very desirable in this condition.
The set is coming directly from the original owners. This set has not passed through toy auctions or sales.
Figures are approx 2 1/4" tall.
Box is approx 10" wide x 12 1/2" long x 1 1/2" deep
