This fantastic Lake Norconian Club wool blanket is the perfect lake house accent. Dark gray/green wool with black stripes and lettering from the once famous resort in Southern California. Nice vibrant color and large size. Own an awesome piece of usable history in a great neutral palette!
Measures about 64" wide by 82" long. Nice vintage condition, with the Pendleton label still intact. There is one faint stain and a few thin spots (I only noticed them when holding the blanket up to the light), as well as some minor unrolling at the hems. Zoom on photos for details.
The Norconian Club was a grand resort built in the late twenties NOrth of COrona (hence the name). It was frequented by movie starts and sports stars of the day, and had the first AAU-qualified swimming and diving pools in the area, until those that were built for the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1932. Lake Norconian hosted some of the fastest speedboat races of the day, and several movies were filmed at the resort. Sounds like it was quite a place!
