Many years ago I became interested in the Victoria era. I bought any magazine about Victorian Times. My daughter was about 9 and she wanted something for show and tell. I had read about these little bags, or purses that ladies wore between their outer garments and under garments. They called them "Victorian Pocket Purses". They could be any size and usually refined ladies carried coins, a picture of a beau, sachets, and maybe some very special keepsake. I worked and revised all night and came of with my own pocket purse design. My daughter was very pleased. I have made them for the granddaughters and their friends.
This Victorian Pocket Purse is 7 1/2 inches in length and 5 1/2 inches in width. When white draw cords are pulled to close purse, cords are between 7 1/2 and 8 1/5 inches. Red jute tied in bows decorate the end of the cords. Cords can be tied in a knot and tucked in skirt or pants. Or just carry by the cords tied together.
The material is a beautiful fabric of vibrant Red Roses. It is lined with a white cotton fabric with ornate design
Wonderful and Enchanting Christmas gift for women or young girls.
