I love the rectangular shape of this British bird cage, and the starburst on the bottom brass tray makes it unique. There are brackets all around the lower portion of the cage that probably once held pieces of glass to minimize bird seed and mess from spilling out. Marked "British Made" on the door handle; there is a beautiful rosette on the inside of the top hook attachment - see last photo.
Measures about 14 1/2” wide by 12” deep by 16 1/2” tall. Good vintage condition, with some wires that are no longer perfectly straight, a little bit of rustiness on the bottom tray, and general signs of use. If there was indeed once glass in the side brackets, it is are missing (but you could easily have some cut at a glass or hardware store).
