238.40 USD

Early 1940s navy blue gabardine short princess
coat with some striking details. The coat has
decorative gold nugget buttons framing the
neckline. The shoulders are heavily padded--
ladies, these are some serious shoulders! The
coat has wide, cuffed sleeves, and a faux drawstring
with a gathered waistband and a looped front
tie. The skirt area is quite full. The coat is fully
lined in rayon twill. This is a light/medium weight
piece. The fabric is not heavy but, of course, it
is wool so it has some warmth. The jacket secures
in front with the waist tie and has no other closures.

The photographs were lightened some to show
detail, the actual color may be a tad darker.

◊ condition: Excellent! I might even say exceptional.
It has one almost imperceptible surface moth nibble
on the rear of the left sleeve that is about 1/8". Not
only is this inconspicuous, it is quite hard to find.
I actually had to wait for a sunny day to list this
jacket because I could not find the spot without full
sun! There is no other insect damage or damage of
any kind. This is a rare beauty in wonderful, wonderful
condition. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and
is ready to wear.

◊ label: none

◊ approximate size: large

measurements:
bust: to 42"
waist: 30" to 33" depending on whether or not you
overlap the front panels.
