Mid century modern JAJ Pyrex (UK) glass jug / pitcher - a diner style serving pot / jug in olive green / khaki melamine - ideal for breakfast & Sunday brunch!
ABOUT THE MAKER
J. A. Joblings was an English glass company who acquired the licence from US industrial glass makers, Corning Glass Works, in 1922, to make and sell their heat-resistant Pyrex glass cooking and table ware in Britain and across the British Empire.
The new Pyrex cookware coincided with the social changes that occurred in Britain after WW1, when domestic servants were on the wane and middle class women began to tackle household management and cooking for the first time.
Pyrex was one of the first products marketed to the housewife, with an emphasis on its multi-functional uses and practicality - it could be used to cook with, good enough to be transferred directly to the dinner table and easy to wash-up. The housewife's dream!
This diner style glass serving jug or pitcher is made from heat resistant glass with a melamine top, including handle and pourer in a deep shade of khaki or olive green. A hard-wearing and very practical item for the kitchen table.
