You are viewing a very cool vintage ceramic tiki mug designed by Gabriel Florian for Steve Crane Associates and manufactured by HF Japan for Stephen Crane's Kon Tiki restaurants throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The mug is signed on the bottom "DESIGNED BY STEVE CRANE ASSOCIATES" with an original foil label that reads "HF JAPAN". It is about 5" H. There is one spot on the lower left side lip where the red paint has scraped off (see photos), but otherwise there are no chips, cracks, fleabites, or repairs. There is minimal crazing toward the bottom of the mug. Additional photos are available on request. This is one awesome mug!
From Ooga-Mooga: "This Ku tiki is unusual mainly for its coloration, bright red and yellow. The red areas have a fish scale or feather texture. Mug also has white, red and green painted details, and a white interior. Shape is of a rounded tiki head, with handle."
