Mid century modern ceramic tray / platter with a geometric circle & lines pattern, in bold mustard yellow / raspberry pink - ideal for cake, pie or home-baking - 1960's vintage charm for your kitchen this Summer!
ABOUT THE CERAMIC TRAY / PLATTER
Made in Germany by Staffel Limburg, and dating from the 1960's, the tray or platter is a perfect circle with a projecting lip or handle either side - the handle has a fluted finish for an easy grip - and features a large circular geometric pattern made up of stripes and segments in mustard yellow and raspberry pink.
The geometric pattern is formed by two abstract circles broken into segments, with wavy lines forming connections between segments and remind me of paintings by Kandinsky!
CONDITION
Good vintage condition - no chips or cracks, some utensil marks on surface. There is crazing across the surface of the plate or platter and some dark spots under the glaze (see pics) - the price reflects the condition.
Maker's Mark: There is a logo on the rear depicting St. George's Cathedral in Limburg and 'Staffel - Limburg - Echt Dom Keramik' in green.
MEASUREMENTS
Tray / platter measures 12" ( 30.5 cm) diameter / 14" (35.5 cm) max. incl. handles and 1" (2.5 cm) deep.
