This rare porcelain pelican ceramic figurine was designed and made by Howard Pierce, a legend in California pottery. The modernist pelican stands about 6.75" H. It is a beautiful blue high gloss glaze. Excellent condition with no chips, fleabites or crazing. This figurine is stamped "HOWARD PIERCE" on the bottom. A similar figure is pictured in Darlene Hurst Dommel's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Howard Pierce Porcelain" on page 67.
